History: When Gaggia Started Making Espresso Machines?

Achille patented Lampo under patent number 365726 on Sept. 5, 1938. A soft layer of “crema naturale” coats the espresso because the hot water pressure is used instead of steam.
Second Patent
Achille Gaggia received his second patent, for a mechanism to brew espresso using levers and pistons, in 1947.
The company Sold in 1989
Gerhard Andlingler, an Austro-American businessman, buys the company in 1989, which has a turnover of more than 56 billion lire.
1999 ownership changed
The Saeco International Group was the owner and the manufacturer of the Gaggia company in 1999.
2007 Gaggia sold to Philips
Due to a crisis in the sale in 2007, the Philips brand took over the Gaggia company and purchased it in 2009.
