Achille Gaggia received his second patent, for a mechanism to brew espresso using levers and pistons, in 1947.

The company Sold in 1989

Gerhard Andlingler, an Austro-American businessman, buys the company in 1989, which has a turnover of more than 56 billion lire. 

1999 ownership changed

The Saeco International Group was the owner and the manufacturer of the Gaggia company in 1999. 

2007 Gaggia sold to Philips
